Join us for the launch of Shahram Khosravi’s new book After Deportation: Ethnographic Perspectives,focusing on what happens to migrants and failed asylum seekers after deportation. What are the consequences of forced removal? What dangers and challenges do they encounter following ‘removal’? And what forms of life do they create in countries to which they are sent?
Shahram Khosravi will introduce his new book, followed by responses to his research from The Bridge Radio and Ung I Sverige. We will close the event with the screening of Becky’s Journey (2014) by Sine Plambech.
The event will be LIVE broadcast by The Bridge Radio, a community radio made up of people with and without citizenship who make radio about migration and asylum politics. www.thebridgeradio.dk
Shahram Khosravi is Professor at Stockholm University and Uppsala University. He has written the books, Young and Defiant in Tehran, University of Pennsylvania Press (2008); The Illegal Traveler: An Auto-Ethnography of Borders, Palgrave (2010); and Precarious Lives: Waiting and Hope in Iran, University of Pennsylvania Press (2017).
