Thursday 15th december at 18.00-19.00 in Marabouparkens library.
The magazine VERK and the publishing house Praun & Guermouche meet in a conversation on different approaches to the editorial role and texts on art.
How are themes and narratives constructed? How are the choices of writers and texts made? How is the role of the editor affected by our individual practices?
Participants: Linda Bergman, Pia Siri Isaksson, Sandra Praun and Oscar Guermouche
VERK is a digital publication about Nordic camera-based art. VERK publishes reflecting texts and interviews – primarly in Swedish, but in Danish and Norwegian as well. The magazine has readers in all of the Nordic countries. VERK was founded in 2016 and publishes four issues per year. In 2018 VERK received Publishingpriset and in 2022 the award for culture magazine of the year. Linda Bergman, artist, art historian and writer is co-founder and editor in chief. Pia Siri Isaksson, artist, writer and environmental scientist is the publisher.
Praun & Guermouche is a publishing house specialized in art and essays that translates artistic practice, projects or individual artworks in to book form. Praun & Guermouche is also the first publisher to exhibit their publications in Marabouparken’s library. The library is open (with some exceptions) during the gallery’s opening hours and is accessible from the entrance in the upper park.
