Conversation about artist’s books, the library and art

Wednesday 15 April 12:00–16:00

Conversation about artist’s books, the library and art as a meeting place. Karl Larsson and John Swedenmark are invited guests for a collaboration.

John Swedenmark is a Swedish essayist, editor and award-winning translator from Icelandic, currently translating the book Naturlagarna by Eirikur Örn Norddahl.

PUUT / Karl Larsson

Since 2003, Karl Larsson, within the work Miljonprogrammet, has photographed over two million images. This archive forms the basis for PUUT – Publication & Lending. PUUT is a nomadic all-art work in the form of an artist’s book library, where Larsson has created and continues to create new publications since its inception in 2018. The library currently consists of 177 titles, of which around 40 are collaborations with other artists and cultural workers. Through dialogue, borrowing and lending, and joint production, participants are activated. Processes where the roles of audience, artist, designer, printer, librarian are challenged and renegotiated – everyone becomes part of the work.

In connection with the conversation, the opportunity is given to become a member of PUUT and take part in the library by borrowing and lending publications.
