Fylkingen visits Marabouparken – In Murmuration
Saturday the 5th of April, 3 p.m.–11 p.m.
Saturday the 5th of April, 3 p.m.–11 p.m.
Fylkingen visits Marabouparken during a day of performances, installations and concerts.
Under the theme In Murmuration Fylkingen makes use of the rooms of other organisations for its meetings between genres, experiments and still unexplored forms. At Marabouparken we let six performances by eleven Fylkingen-affiliated artists, dancers and musicians share the exhibition space.
The word murmuration doesn’t denote the migrating birds’ chevron-formation, but the moving clusters of starlings, while at the same time it signifies soundings, murmurs and chatter. The sounds of the group. Through the theme – and as a result of recurring relocations – we want to draw attention to the strength that constant movement and the widely different and loosely connected members and collaborators of the group constitutes. A resistance against simplifications and streamlined forms. A bit like noise.
Participants: Anna-Karin Brus, KAI-EN, Alexandra Nilsson och Björn Ola Lind, Tuutula sisters, Cecilia Enberg och Erik Malmberg, Lars Åkerlund, Stora ord.
Fylkingen is an artist-run, non-profit association for experimental music and art. It was founded in 1933, making it one of the world’s oldest forums of its kind. Today, the association consists of more than 100 active members who are developing and presenting new work across electro-acoustic and other forms of experimental music, dance, film, video, performance art and installations.
Fylkingen Records produces and distributes recorded media and we have also produced a number of publications.
Fylkingen is supported by Kulturrådet — the Swedish Arts Council, The city of Stockholm’s cultural administration and Stockholm County Arts Council.
In 2023 we relocated to a temporary location in Bredäng.
